The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie two Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render services on the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering services for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency claimed it is alarmed about the significant quantity of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The aim in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to sassa status reach-out to a large amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is sassa no completely functional office focused on service the area on a regular basis. The provider level developed for intervention encounters a large influx of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it tough for your Workplace to attend to all people who stop by a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional means to help the servicing of all shoppers and raise use of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
